These are the little thoughts that just don’t make it into posts. Maybe someday.

Random thoughts

April 27, 2009 Dear men,
Women want to feel desired and adored. If you can accomplish these 2 things, you will have cornered the market on your woman. Flirting is an art.

One of the small things in life that I greatly appreciate is my mailman. Every day he brings my packages to my door instead of putting notices in my box, which effectively saves me about 18 trips a week to the post office. He does this regardless of the weather. I’m thankful for him.

I gave my final today and said goodbye to my undergraduates. The pride I feel at watching them grow this semester is not unlike the pride I’ve found in being a parent. Teaching is incredibly rewarding and I’m going to miss it while I spend more time focusing on my education.

Women want to be desired/adored. And men want to be validated.

It’s so simple, you’d think I’d get it right some day! lol

DH, it feels simple and intuitive, but in day to day life, I think it’s hard because those are both things that the opposite sexes struggle to do intuitively for one another. They can do it for the same sex because of that feeling of authenticity, but when it comes down to doing it for one another, it’s hard.

Women have no trouble validating each other aka “You go, girl!” but we have a heck of a time making each other feel adored otherwise there would be no movie called “Mean Girls.”

Men can make other men feel manly (put on a pedestal as opposed to adored) “That was a heck of a jump shot!” or “Great job on your promotion!” but they don’t necessarily go out of their way to validate them as people “Gosh, that must have sucked when your wife stepped out on you” isn’t going to happen. “We’ll get that witch!” might. ;)

See what I’m saying? You are absolutely, 100% right.

About Me
Life is like a game. We all have challenges, thoughts, opinions and beliefs. Often, it feels like something out there, life, karma, catty people, or blue shells (for the Kart lovers), seeks to bring us down. Luckily, we always get up. This is where I wear my heart on my sleeve and my foot in my mouth.
