My first giveaway! Jewelry by Linda Lee

My wonderful friend, Linda Lee, is a jewelry-making genius. Last year, she went to Italy to learn more about glass-blowing and her skills have just taken off since then. I recently bought a necklace from her, to wear to a wedding this weekend, in fact, and I was blown away by how incredibly beautiful the necklace is and how lovely it is when it hangs on my neck.

When I received the box in the mail, it was gift-wrapped and gorgeous and I couldn’t wait to open it. It was then that it occurred to me that Linda Lee is an unknown treasure and I’d been keeping her to myself, quite selfishly, in fact. Recently, she’d had a sale and I realized that I was being a bad friend to all of you in not sharing her amazing work. What? I’m not always nice. And I like having first dibs.

So, to make it up to you, I’m offering a giveaway! It’s the first one on this website and Linda Lee forgave me for being so selfish and so should you. She’s generously donated a BEAUTIFUL necklace and earring set valued at $65! She custom makes all of her jewelry so there is not a single set just like this anywhere else. Ladies, this matches everything. Men, your woman will love this. Let me give you a little background information on it.

This necklace features four oversized pearls, tiny Swarovski crystals, sterling silver wire, and sterling silver chain. Linda Lee used a classic chainmail technique with twisted sterling silver rings. This necklace is 18 1/2 inches long and can be worn much shorter because of the type of chain used.

If the winner needs the necklace longer, Linda Lee can add an extender to it.

The earrings are slightly longer than 1 1/2 inches measured from the top of the ear wire.

The best part of summer for me is to be able to go to the beach at the JErsey shire to sit inmy chair get lost in my own world as the waves hit the beach. To hear sounds of the ocean and breath in the salt air then before I leave the beach to write a note in the sand it may only last till the next tide comes in but the ocean kows I was there.

My favorite part of summer is at night when the fireflies come out. I grew up in the country and we always had our windows open at night. I would go to sleep each night watching the fireflies outside and listening to the crickets and frogs.

I love that there are no school zones during my summer commute downtown every morning. I love the longer days. I love that after being out in the bright sunshine I can still feel the sun’s warmth beaming down into my bones. I love watching the summer sunset slowly sink into the trees. I love the laid back, relaxed feel summer brings, remembering as a child that I don’t have to go to school until Fall and the overwhelming feeling of freedom. I love my childhood memories of summer vacations with my family, staying weeks at Otter Tail Lake in Minnesota, camping in Yellow Stone Park with bears, snow on top of the Rockies and my first sight of the Pacific Ocean. Even though I no longer relish being out in the hot, hot weather, I enjoy my fingers wrapped around a cool glass taking long luxurious sips of my favorite summer elixir.

I love LindaLee’s new necklace, too! Very summery.

  19. Halifax says:

I love the warm weather for sure, to show off shorts, skirts and stuff. Love to be able to put the winter jackets away.

  20. Allison says:

My favourite part of summer is being able to go outside without fifteen layers of bulky clothing on. That, and ice cream! (I just can’t bring myself to eat ice cream in cold weather. It feels wrong.)

  21. Dana says:

My favorite part of the summer is spending time with my family and my dog. My family because they are away at college or so busy during the year that we don’t have much quality time together, and my dog because he has cancer and it may be his last summer with us so we’re enjoying as much as we can while he is with us.

  22. julianne says:

My favorite part of summer is watching my little girl glory in running joy of the sunshine, dancing and twirling like a butterfly newly released for her cocoon.

  23. Ashley B says:

My favorite part of summer are the random rain storms. :) They break the heat, make everything smell fresh and new, and they just invigorate me.

O’Course, if I win LindaLee’s necklace- that would be THIS summer’s favorite moment. ;)

  27. Rose says:

My favourite part of summer is the beach! Though I rarely get there anymore. :(

  29. ERICKA says:

My favorite part is back yard BBQs with friends and lots of wine!

  30. Melissa Legoudes says:

My favorite thing about summer…well let’s see the intensity of summer thunder storms and the way that the lighting can light up the night sky. After the storm has passed, the smell outside is so clean and invigoriting. Watching kids play in the water sprinklers and know that they don’t have a care in the world, and the true innocence of being a child. I also remember as a child in PA bring outside and catching fire flys in a jar…don’t have those in Texas!

Linda Lee’s jewelry is so beautiful! Every piece is so unique!

  31. Malaika says:

My favorite part of Summer is… okay, I know this is lame, nobody laugh, is that the weather is warm, the kids wear less clothes and thus produce less laundry so I have to invest less time in the dreaded task of washing, drying, folding and putting away. YAY!

    Beautiful jewelry, btw.

  32. Denice says:

I love being able to stay up late drinking on my back porch with friends–it doesn’t even matter if I work in the morning. Just because it’s summer makes it ok.

  33. Beth says:
