An American Girl

In honor of Independence Day weekend, I wanted to share one of my favorite songs with you. My friends know that I’m a Scrub-o-holic. I’m obsessed with Scrubs. I have my Directv record it every day, which some days gives me 9 episodes a day. I watch them all when I eventually have time. I particularly identify with Dr. Elliott Reed, who is a neurotic, say all the wrong things, perfectionist. At one point in the show, she finally decides to make some changes in her life and this song began to play. I’ve loved it ever since.

And, as a bonus, you get to see Crystal Gayle make a naughty joke. Happy Independence Day weekend!

I love Tom Petty and this song, but I still always think of Silence of the Lambs when I hear it. If you’ve never seen the movie, this song is in a scene during the movie.

I’ve seen it, but it’s been at least 10 years. I think I’d rather have the song than the movie. ;)

About Me
Life is like a game. We all have challenges, thoughts, opinions and beliefs. Often, it feels like something out there, life, karma, catty people, or blue shells (for the Kart lovers), seeks to bring us down. Luckily, we always get up. This is where I wear my heart on my sleeve and my foot in my mouth.
