Cold sensitivity

coldI’m a sensitive person. I’m sensitive to light, sensitive to moods and emotions, and I’m particularly sensitive to temperatures.

And I hate being cold.

I will go to extremes to avoid being cold. This involves having 4 dogs to puppy pile on the couch in the winter. This involves layering myself with four layers of clothing in 50 degree weather. It involves secretly coveting a snuggie but not telling anyone. It involves always wearing socks. It involves bringing a jacket to school even in the summer.

I hate being cold.

If I’m cold and you are warm, I will put my cold hands on you. It doesn’t matter if this is outside your boundaries. Sorry about that. Just be glad you don’t sleep in my bed. Cold feet will find a place even if it’s the only warm place on your body to be warmed. I am shameless.

I hate being cold.

This translates into the fact that I’m an awesome cuddler and if you are a warm person, I’m going to like you. I’m going to like you a lot. Especially in the winter.

I may also stick my nose in your ear and call it a “nose slipper.” I know it’s gross. Sorry.

I hate being cold.

    Umm….wow. Nose slipper might be a dealbreaker.

    I’m totally getting you a Snuggie for Xmas.

  2. Jillian says:

    What? You don’t want my nose in your ear?

    I’m a hot-natured person so you would totally love me! Seriously- I almost never wear a coat (I’m not even certain I own one…gotta go check). I use only a thin blanket & even then get so hot that I have to hang my legs out of it at night! And just like you, my hubby likes to stick his cold feet on me in bed (only thing that sucks is we can’t snuggle long- I get too hot!)

    I am always cold. Well, almost always. And I think you should go for the Snuggie. It was MADE for you. I think it’s the perfect PERFECT blogging wardrobe!

    Oh Jilly Bean! LOL! I love you LOTS…but if your nose comes near my ear, well um…I’ll still love you but I might run off screaming and laughing. :-) I’m the same way though. I’ll bring a heating pad with me to work if I don’t have a space heater…in the summer. I LOVE electric blankets (the people who radiate that heat or the real blanket). I keep extra gloves in my car at all times and usually a blanket. I always take a coat or blanket with me to class and trips as well. I’d rather have the windows down versus the air conditioner. Maybe we should just run off to Miami or some beach area where it stays warm most the year together! :) Think Leon would mind?? ;)

    @Jen A snuggie? Really?

    @Mel Maybe a little. ;)

    And this is another reason why I love my husband. I have named him the Heat Machine. The man is made of warmth. It’s not as though he doesn’t ever get cold, but his body produces an exorbitant amount of heat no matter what. I always chalk it up to the fact that he grew up in Florida and his body soaked up the sun’s rays for nearly 30 years. Cold hands and toes on his body? Yup, that’s me too!

    Embrace your inner Snuggie love and get one! They come in pink now, which is what finally convinced me to get one. I even took a picture wearing it AT WORK and posted it on my Facebook.

    There’s also a Snugtress now, too: http://www.thejaylenoshow.com/video/clips/monologue-116/1173445/

About Me
Life is like a game. We all have challenges, thoughts, opinions and beliefs. Often, it feels like something out there, life, karma, catty people, or blue shells (for the Kart lovers), seeks to bring us down. Luckily, we always get up. This is where I wear my heart on my sleeve and my foot in my mouth.
