Loss of a loved one. The two go hand in hand on the more melancholy days, don't they? It is no secret that I lost my father in an unexpected way 10 years ago. This will be our tenth Christmas without him. Without him to wear the Santa hat and the green wool sweater with the holes at the elbows. Without him to provide the entertainment in wry, witty bursts when drinks run dry and kids get tired. Like the readers before me, I thank you for sharing.
