It generally seems to be a divide between the “haves” and “have nots” and it means that this year I went shopping expecting ugly attitudes. But at some point I decided to just step up and be cheerful to everyone I interacted with and in return, they were cheerful with me. It’s the nicest holiday shopping experience I’ve had in Chicago since moving here 13 years ago. So yay to nice shopping people!
