Coveryourhair.com was kind enough to send me a freebie hat to review and a free giveaway for you! Let’s be honest, I look like crud in hats. However, I think I may be able to pull this one off, just not with the shirt I chose for this picture. I think it’s my ears. My usual complaint about hats is that they are too big/small for my head or they aren’t comfortable. What I found with this hat was that it was the perfect size for me, but was too big for my 14-year-old sister. However, it was immensely comfortable. This is going to be a staple for me in the winter when I don’t feel like doing my hair and pull half of it back with a barrette.

It goes with most of the items in my wardrobe. My mother didn’t like the pattern because she thought it was busy, but when worn with a solid color shirt, I felt like it dressed up the outfit a great deal. With some dangly earrings and dress pants, I think it would be great and stylish. Probably the most attractive thing about this hat is it’s price, which is less than $15. Overall, this is a great deal for the cost and well worth it.

Have y’all had enough of the dog days of summer? This heat has about given me a stroke and I’ve had plenty of it. Congratulations to the winner of yesterday’s giveaway. Thank goodness I have this to look forward to every week because the air conditioner alone sure isn’t cutting it. I’m about to start bathing in ice cream just to stay cool.

The magical month of July…Giveaways!

Oh, July is sweltering. As someone who can’t seem to stay cool and has to change clothes frequently just to avoid the nasty, sticky feeling that occurs when sweat pools in those places that it’s inappropriate to dab in public, I have already had more than my share of dealing with this heat. Something good needs to happen and fast. “It is better to give than receive” and maybe, just maybe, if I give a little, then the air conditioning karma will blow some much needed ice my direction, eh?

Giveaway: Moleskine 2010 pocket planner

It’s that time again! I realized, as I walked through Target’s hallowed aisle’s, that they had decided for me that I needed to be thinking about the future. This came to me as I saw Christmas decor next to the Halloween candy we were picking up to hand out to trick-or-treaters. I winced, as I am determined to live in the here-and-now, right now. Fall is my favorite season. I love the clear skies, crunchy leaves, changing colors, and fall reminds me of the first time I fell in love. Fall is a great time of year. What better time to do a giveaway asking you about your fall feelings?

This week I’m sharing an Altec Lansing 360 Travel Speaker that is compatible with most items that have a headphone jack. I actually bought this a while ago in a Two-for-Tuesday on Woot. I wanted one for myself and wasn’t going to use the other one, but justified the purchase by saying I could always give one away to you all. I’m glad I did because I love my speaker. It’s about the size of a can of tuna (lawd, I hate tuna), and it’s about the same weight. I throw it into my briefbag for work and can easily pop it into my purse for school or on the go, as well.

Why bother with one of these? Sometimes you don’t want to wear headphones and other methods aren’t convenient. My office at work doesn’t have a computer and I don’t want to lug around my computer to work to listen to tunes. I have to be able to listen to what’s going on around me, so I can’t wear headphones. Or, if I want to go to the park, and blast my music a bit, I have it. Not that I ever go to the park, but there you have it.

It’s a handy little thing to have and I’m excited about this one. Look at the specs and then enter.

Giveaway: Redken Smooth Down Set

I’m picky.

Really picky.

Some people, none that I would ever hang out with, but some people, might even call me spoiled.

But I don’t know any of those people. Mom, I’m talking to you.

Anyway, I’m picky about many things, but one thing that I don’t compromise on is my hair care. There are about 3 brands I will use, after testing almost everything out there. One of them is the Redken brand. I like the way it makes my hair FEEL and the way my hair works WITH me instead of against me when I use it. I don’t always like the different scents, but, again, I’m picky. I’ll put up with a scent if everything else works, and in most cases, it does.

I found redken products in which everything, including scent, falls together nicely. Those products are the Smooth Down line.

Even though I’m picky about my hair, I’m fairly low maintenance about it, too, as anyone that has met me in person can attest. I like to ponytail/bun/braid/scrunch and go. These allow me to do it.

So, because it’s been a while since I’ve done a giveaway and because I like this stuff so much, I up and bought you a present.
