Anyone that knows me well knows that I adore elephants. They are among the most sensitive, sweet and creative creatures there are. They are also the most empathetic. If you haven’t read the book When Elephants Weep, I highly recommend it. Elephants travel in herds and, when a member of the herd passes, it’s traumatic for them. Years later, if they pass a spot where a former member of the herd has passed, the elephants will circle the area and weep for the lost herd member.

I love them.

Ok, this is one of those things that I could watch a million times and never get bored. I’ve been sick all week and this just made me laugh loud and long. It also made me want another baby. Yeah. I don’t want to talk about that.

Hide and go Seek: Work version

Because it’s a long weekend, some of you are already stressing out about having to return to work next week. I’ve found an ingenious way for you to avoid your work duties. In the interest of “team building,” I think that everyone should play this Russian version of hide and go seek and “hide” at home on Tuesday.

I saw this video and thought of so many conversations I’ve had in the past. I’ve especially considered how PETA will flip right out because of it. It’s satire. It’s ok to make fun of yourself every now and then.

Penguins Fart!

I freely admit that I have the sense of humor of a 5-year old. I think farting is hilarious. On the recent family vacation, and oh, my family is going to KILL me for posting this, but there was an event that MUST be mentioned here. SOMEONE in the family, or maybe more than one person, was talking about farting. Maybe they were doing more than talking.

A.J. popped out with “you can’t just fart without an explanation” which sent all of us into giggles. For us, in our home, if you have to pass gas (isn’t that delicate how we say that? True Southerners.), you go to the bathroom and if one is a “sneaker” you say excuse me and haul butt to the other room to be embarrassed while everyone pretends they didn’t hear it. Of course it’s not healthy. Everyone farts. I blame Leon.

However, for my extended family, farting is natural and to be laughed at, so A.J. was in hysterics, especially when a family member was “dutch ovened.” Have you heard of this? I hadn’t until last year. A dutch oven is when you pass gas while under blankets and trap someone under there to “cook” with the remains of your stench.

I laughed so hard I cried.

I just can’t help it. I’m normally such a proper person, but it’s hilarious.

I could if I tried, but I don’t want to. I’m so tightly wound, that I need something that is just hilarious.

When I saw this video, I died. I wonder if penguins have a way to dutch oven?

On Sunday, you may need a little excitement to your day. I know in our home, Sunday is a day of naps (woooot!) and relaxing and Nascar (UGH!). I recently acquired a new to me vehicle. I’ll write about, complete with pictures, in the very near future, as I have some interesting things to tell. One of the main things that my new to me vehicle has, that I’ve never had before, is a sunroof.

Let me tell you this. If any of you ever pull this on me, I will make you the sorriest person you’ve ever heard of in ways that are 100% legal.

I know I’m pressing my luck with the youtube videos. I’m actually answering phones on my day off of work, today, as my office manager is living it up in a foreign country, so I will have some time to write for next week. Don’t hate me because I’m lazy. Well, you can, but I’m still going to be lazy. Motivation tends to be a problem for lazy people.

Well, I reckon you remember that I have road rage. I know people that have ridden with me remember it quite well. My friend, Kristin, was on the phone with me recently when some phrases came flying out of my mouth and into my little bluetooth headpiece. I hadn’t seen her recently and she sighed with longing and said, “I miss you so much. I haven’t been in your car with you in so long.” I guess you could say I allow it to define me and so does everyone else.

It’s always funnier, though, to watch someone else have road rage than to have the angry red demon of death behind your own eyeballs. As such, I want to share with you a youtube of some guy losing it over a speeding ticket. It starts off with some belligerence, and then goes into full out Tasmanian Devil craziness. To which the cop…well, it has to be seen to be believed.
