Have y’all had enough of the dog days of summer? This heat has about given me a stroke and I’ve had plenty of it. Congratulations to the winner of yesterday’s giveaway. Thank goodness I have this to look forward to every week because the air conditioner alone sure isn’t cutting it. I’m about to start bathing in ice cream just to stay cool.
I decided to break up the make-up and give the guys an opportunity to maybe participate this week if they wanted to do so as well. This time I’m giving away something I consider so cool it’s ice cold. This little flexpod minitripod gripper can hold digital cameras and camcorders and the best part is that you can wrap the legs around objects so it doesn’t require a flat surface to get your picture/video. Oh, July is sweltering. As someone who can’t seem to stay cool and has to change clothes frequently just to avoid the nasty, sticky feeling that occurs when sweat pools in those places that it’s inappropriate to dab in public, I have already had more than my share of dealing with this heat. Something good needs to happen and fast. “It is better to give than receive” and maybe, just maybe, if I give a little, then the air conditioning karma will blow some much needed ice my direction, eh?

Ok, since my last contest only had 4 entries (hello!), here is what I decided to do. I have 2 planners and was going to do separate giveaways, but since only 3 people wanted them, I’m going to give away the 2 planners and a lipstick palette via drawing. It’s that time again! I realized, as I walked through Target’s hallowed aisle’s, that they had decided for me that I needed to be thinking about the future. This came to me as I saw Christmas decor next to the Halloween candy we were picking up to hand out to trick-or-treaters. I winced, as I am determined to live in the here-and-now, right now. Isn’t that how it needs to be sometimes? There are times you just have to go into survival mode and stick with the here and now.
Then again, I already have my planner for next year. I’m a planner-a-holic. I have gone through 4 of them this year alone. I’m pretty content with the one I have now, but I’ve only had it a month or so.

Life is like a game. We all have challenges, thoughts, opinions and beliefs. Often, it feels like something out there, life, karma, catty people, or blue shells (for the Kart lovers), seeks to bring us down. Luckily, we always get up.
